Original edition of 1845 of this treaty works about the history of insects by the famous French entomologist and zoologist Emile Blanchard (1819-1900). He worked in the National Museum of Natural history for a long time and in 1862 he became President of Natural History crustaceans, invertebrates and insects. This work is made up of two volumes and it is complete. The first tome is dedicated to Hymenopters and Coleopterons, the second one to the other kind of insects. At the end of each tome there are ten out of text very detailed planches for a total of 20 planches. Handwritten notes with coloured pencil. In good conditions. Half leather coeval cover with golden title and decorations in the spine in good general conditions slightly worn. Binding in good conditions. Pages are in good conditions with foxings and occasional yellowing. Very slight water stain in the lower right corner. Planches from 18 to 20 have been bound inverted. In 16. Dim. 18,5 x 12 cm. Pp.
