EL MOROCCO] Group of approximately one hundred twenty-five vintage photographs of patrons at El Morocco . New York: 1930s-50s. Each a black and white print approximately 8 x 10 inches, a few with ink identifications to the image or the verso, a few stamped, sleeved and housed in two new binders. Some minor wear from handling, generally very good. A delightful archive of images of El Morocco in its heyday likely taken by in-house photographer Jerome Zerbe. The images depict the glamorously dressed patrons of the club milling at the bar, seated at tables and entrenched in the striped booths, perched on the padded radiator near the club's entrance, smoking in the hallways, awaiting cars in furs, and generally having a swell time. Includes images of club owner John Perona holding court and this group contains photographs of notables such as Lucille Ball, Joan Crawford Errol Flynn at a table with Perona being drawn by caricaturist Vincenzo Zito, Salvador Dali, Lupe Velez with Johnny Weismuller, Rita Hayworth, Perona with Joan Blondell and Dick Powell, Claudette Colbert, Clark Gable, and Charlie Chaplin.
