Egypt and Sudan Medals 1882-1891 from the Collection of Jack Webb Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 1 clasp, Suakin 1885 (174. ..rgt. A. Lovie, 2/Sco.. Rif.) edge bruising and pitting from star, therefore fine but rare £100-150 Footnote One of only two Egypt medals to the 2nd Scottish Rifles. Andrew Lonie (Lovie on medal and some documents) was born in Edinburgh and enlisted there for the 90th Light Infantry on 29 April 1871. He served in South Africa from January 1878 to October 1879 (Medal and clasp), and in India from October 1879 to December 1887. He was one of two men of the regiment who were attached to the Indian Transport Department, serving with British Forces at Suakin in 1885. He returned home from India in December 1887 and was discharged on 31 August 1896. Sold with copy discharge papers which confirm medals and clasps.
