[New Jersey], n.d.[1879/1880], in pencil on lined paper, one page, 8vo (browned, split through centre fold, tears in blank upper right corner, traces of mount on verso). A note referring to an experiment having changed the (?) reproducers to cork gaskets - 'Please find out from Ehrich if they have stood up'- and wondering if a man engaged by the latter 'has or has not changed these and spoilt my test'. Since Mack Moore and William Ehrich were, according to time sheets for 1879/1880 which have survived, employees in Edison's lamp factory at the Menlo Park laboratory which was constructed in 1876, the letter presumably refers to the tests which Edison was directing there. for the production of a range of 'candle-power lamps' ( The Papers of Thomas Edison, IV, Research to Development at Menlo Park ed. Paul B. Israel etc., 2004).
