Maiasaura Late Cretaceous Hell Creek Formation, Montana Maiasaura, meaning caring mother lizard in Greek, was the first dinosaur genus discovered in close proximity to its eggs. A large duck-billed herbivorous dinosaur, Maiasaura possessed a toothless beak and self-sharpening teeth in its cheek pouch, and may have lived in large herds of up to 10,000 individuals. These giants of the Age of Dinosaurs grew to be approximately 30 feet long and weighed 3-4 tons. This juvenile jaw displays many teeth in their original positions. Measures 11 x 5 1/8in
