Autograph letter, signed, dated November 4, 1906, written on 1 page in small 8vo with 8 lines, 3 pages blank. Folded, small tear in folding, last blank pages with paper loss. In the letter Dreyfus expresses his gratitude to an unknown "Madame" for her kind words. In 1894 Dreyfus was convicted of treason and sentenced to life in prison. Two years later he was found innocent, but it led to a political scandal mostly due to the open letter written by the author Émile Zola in 1898. In 1906 he was exonorated and reinstated as a major in the French army.
