London: for Nicholas Bourne, [1652-] 1653. 4to, 189 x 140 mm. (7 7/16 x 5 9/16 in,), modern brown morocco g.e., by Fleming of Glasgow, worn, upper inner hinge cracked, frontispiece cut round and laid down, with several small holes or tears affecting image, title stained and soiled, considerable soiling throughout, small wormhole through text in part 1 and first few leaves of part 2, headline of H2r (last leaf) shaved, without A1 blank in part 2 . FIRST EDITION, 4 parts in one, separate title-pages, the first 3 separately signed and paginated, the last 2 continuously paginated, engraved frontispiece, woodcut initials and headpieces. Church 526; Hill, pp. 86 and 211; Sabin 20840, 20855, 20843, and 20830; Wing D2122. First collected edition of Drake's voyages, the four parts comprising: Sir Francis Drake Revived (the voyage of 1572-73); The World Encompassed (voyage of 1577-80); A Summarie and True Discourse of [his] West Indian Voyage (1585-86); and A Full Relation of Another Voyage to the West Indies (the last voyage, of 1596-96, during which Drake died).
