Profusely illustrated throughout the text with duo-tone lithographs (in black and brown), plus 60 duo-tone lithographs in back; all by artist Renefer. (4to) 12½x9½, bound in decorative full dark navy blue morocco, various colored morocco inlays on front cover with large ocean wave and gilt anchor over red white & blue ribbon vignette, spine lettered in gilt, inner gilt dentelles over 3/8 turn-ins, front and back polished red calf doublures, navy blue moiré silk free endpapers, marbled front and rear flyleaves, hinges reinforced in blue morocco, attached red white & blue silk ribbon bookmark; binder’s gilt name on bottom front turn-in “A. Bruel Rel. Angers.” No. 32 of 250 copies, this being 1 of 20 (numbered 31 to 50) on Madagascar paper and with complete suite of 60 lithographs, which is bound in at rear for this copy. Lot Amendments Condition: Lower 4½ of front joint cracking, top front corner a bit bumped; light foxing on endpapers and within; very good or better, in an attractive special full leather binding.
