Small 8vo, full red morocco, covers with single gilt fillet borders, front cover with central vari-colored morocco onlaid design depicting "Mr. Fezziwig's Ball", spine in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt-lettered in two compartments, a repeated gilt holly device in the rest, board edges and turn-ins gilt, g.e., original cloth covers bound-in at rear, by BAYNTUN; cloth slipcase. FIRST EDITION, with the title-page printed in red and blue, "Stave One" as the first chapter heading, and with the text uncorrected.
