(ends of spines and fore-corners worn, wear at outer joints of vols. 1 & 3, front inner hinge of vol. 1 tender, the other vols. shaken, spines faded); brown cloth folding case. FIRST EDITION, Eckel's First Issue with the "Boz" title-pages and the "Fireside" plate facing p. 313 in vol. 3, Carter's Binding Variant A, Smith's Issue a, without the list of plates at the beginning of vol. 1 found in some copies, advertisement leaf at front of vol. 3.
