Lucas after Dézailler and Alexandre Le Blond, including 30 double-page and 9 folding, mostly mounted on guards. (Marginal tear at fold of second plate.) Contemporary French calf, spine gilt (light wear to spine and corners). Provenance: Safstaholms, Bibliothek (engraved bookplate). Enlarged second edition of the important French treatise on garden design. First published in 1709, this edition contains a new preface and six new engravings. The book was originally published under the author's initials alone, and was later also published under the name of its illustrator, Le Blond. Berlin Kat. 3463; see Hunt 421.
