Lithographic frontispiece in bistre, one unnumbered plate and 51 numbered plates, all after Eugène Forest, half-title. (Occasional light spotting.) Contemporary brown roan-backed decorated boards by Boutigny, flat spine gilt adorned with various animals and birds (spine rather faded, head and foot of spine and hinges very slightly rubbed). Provenance : C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (bookplate; his sale, 22 May 1939, lot 425). FIRST EDITION, SCHWERDT COPY of a rare and attractive illustrated work on hunting from the romantic era.
