DESPORTES, PHILIPPE. Les sept pseaumes de David, mis en vers françois [--Poesies chrestiennes-- Quelques prieres & meditations chrestiennes]. Paris: Mamert Patisson 1598. 3 vols. in one, 8vo, 168 x 97mm. (6 5/8 x 3 13/16in.), contemporary brown morocco, covers richly gilt in the Duodo style, outer border of leafy sprays, inner floral border, central panel containing 18 oval medallions, each decorated with a flower or Holy Ghost tool, at center a large blank oval stained dark brown, g.e., joints and extremities rubbed, upper inner hinge cracked, a few leaves a bit soiled, occasional minor marginal staining. RULED IN RED THROUGHOUT, printer's woodcut device on titles, italic type. BM/STC, p. 61. Provenance : Boissard, ink stamp on title -- Robert Hoe, bookplate .
