DescriptionProperty from a European Private Collection
Jacob DuckUtrecht (?) circa 1600 - 1667Interior with elegantly-dressed figures and a fortune teller with her retinue
oil on oak panelunframed: 49 x 72.8 cm.; 19¼ x 28⅝ in.framed: 65.2 x 88.4 cm.; 25⅝ x 34¾ in.Condition reportThe panel is uncradled, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is very slightly discoloured. Small discoloured retouchings are visible through parts of the background, particularly in the centre of the image, and in the floor, lower left. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms these and further reveals small strengthenings in the folds of the figures' clothes, lower right, and some small retouchings in the back of the chair, lower left. The painting is in overall good condition.
