Beschreibung:

Description: Full size late 19th century Sudan / Boer War medal group, plus matching miniature medal group. Awarded to Major, later Lt Col T. Archer of the RAMC. As is normal for officers of the era, the Queens Sudan Medal’s naming is hand engraved (with rank being Major) as is the QSA and KSA medal (with rank as Lt Col). The Khedives Sudan Medal is unnamed as issued. The full size medals are complete with replacement ribbons. Accompanying the full sized medals are a group of fine quality period miniatures, with these being mounted on a pin back bar for wear. Lt Col Archer’s medals and clasps are confirmed, with his Sudan medal being awarded for the Khartoum Expedition in 1898. His address on the Queen’s Sudan Medal roll is simply listed as ‘Manchester’. The QSA roll states that he was invalided to Cape Town, South Africa in April 1900. Please note: we also have Lt Col Archer’s son’s WW1 RAMC medals, and his Grandson’s RAMC medals consigned for the same auction. Condition: very good. Some light contact wear in places, and normal age related toning. The miniatures hang on their original ribbons, with the silver also having toned.
