Lockhart, Esq. by Sir Walter Scott Bart., London: John Murray 1830, half-title, engraved frontispiece illustrated by J. Skene and engraved by W.H. Lizars, bound within volume Cruikshank (George), Twelve sketches illustrative of Sir Walter Scott's Demonology and Witchcraft, London: Published for the artist, by J. Robins and Co., 1830, 12 plates etched plates in two states (uncoloured and hand-coloured, 24 plates in total), first uncoloured plate torn to lower outer blank corner, very light dust-soiling mostly to uncoloured plates, all edges gilt, 20th-century red morocco by Riviere & Son, gilt decorated spine, joints slightly cracked, 16mo in 8s (Quantity: 1) Cohn, 731: "This work very often contains the twelve prints described at No. 188," being the entry for George Cruikshank's Twelve sketches illustrative of Sir Walter Scott's Demonology and Witchcraft, London: Published for the artist, by J. Robins and Co., 1830. These twelve plates were "issued in two states, plain and India proofs. No coloured copies of the first issue were made, and items so found are either Tilt's [1835] reissue or of modern workmanship."
