DEAN AND MUNDAY, publishers. [PERRAULT, Charles (1628-1703) and/or Pierre PERRAULT DARMANCOUR (1678-1700)]. Cinderella; or, the Little Glass Slipper. A Fairy Tale. London: Dean & Munday, 1826. 16 o (141 x 88 mm). Folding wood-engraved frontispiece and 3 full-page wood engravings in text, all with publisher's hand coloring. Original printed pale green wrappers; quarter roan folding case. The folding frontispiece is dated 1 March 1826. Dean & Munday was the longest-lived and most consistent of the English publisher's of children's books, according to Alderson & Oyens. "Like the two Darton companies, it evolved through generations of proprietors and through varieties of publishing fashions, but unlike them it lasted into modern times..." (Alderson & Oyens p.171).
