SCHUELER COLLECTION. WITH 66 ETCHINGS BY PICASSO. ROJAS, FERNANDO DE. La Celestine. Paris (Atelier Crommelynck) 1971. 4to (210x165 mm). 66 etchings and aquatints by Pablo Picasso (complete, 1 small spot to margin of 1 plate). Edition published in 350 copies on Richard-de-Bas wove paper, watermarked La Celestine and signed in pencil by Picasso, this is number 28. Publisher's original parchment with printed title on upper board, dustjacket in parchment and paper with title on spine, original parchment slipcase, lower edge untrimmed. Excellent copy. Goeppert-Cramer 149. Bloch 1602. A major work of the Spanish literature, translated by Pierre Heugas illustrated with etchings and aquatints. Part of the famous series of 347 plates which Picasso made between March and October 1968 and printed by the Crommelynck brother, at that time working in Mougins. Provenance: Stefan Schueler (1920-2015), Swedish art book dealer who in 1972 opened / founded the specialized art book shop "Konst-Bibliofilen" in the Old Town, Stockholm, which lasted for 25 years.
