Contemporary russia gilt (joints worn, some wear to extremities). Provenance : John Wickham Flower, Park Hill, Croydon (bookplate). FIRST EDITIONS, with the index leaf to the second work at end. Darwin's two monographs on fossil Cirripedia appeared as Vol. V, no. 13 and vol. VIII, no. 30 of the series of monographs published by the Palaeontographical Society. Freeman considers the above two monographs as one work. The one-leaf index leaf to the second work was published later in Vol. XII of the Palaeontographical Society's monograph series (and is sometimes included with the monographs as here).
