Lot of 4, including: quarter plate daguerreotype of a teen-aged girl, her hair beautifully braided and covered in a bonnet adorned with ribbons and flowers. The young girl wears a dark top with a lace collar and a checkered skirt. A book is visible on the table at right. Housed in full, thermoplastic case. Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of two young women, their cheeks lightly tinted pink, wearing striped gowns that are similar in appearance. The young woman at right holds a book in her hand, while the woman at left holds a hand fan. A beautifully composed portrait housed in a full case, which has been reinforced along the hinge. Oval-length daguerreotype, 2 x 2.5 in., of a young woman with long, dark hair, wearing a unique headpiece that appears to consist of a combination of flowers or lace with ribbon. She also wears a plaid dress. Housed in full velvet, push-button case. Sixth plate tintype portrait of three women of varying ages, perhaps a mother posed with her two daughters, each subject's cheeks lightly tinted pink. Housed in full, thermoplastic case. Condition: Quarter plate daguerreotype with light tarnishing along perimeter where plate meets mat. Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait has small scratch near center of plate, but otherwise is a nice, clear image. Oval daguerreotype with light tarnish ring along perimeter. Tintype shows some wear, including some scratches near top center and along lower left edge of plate.
