.32-40 WCF. 30" heavy barrel length. SN: 87230. Custom Winchester Model 1885 that features a super heavy bull barrel measuring 2" in diameter and weighing close to 40lbs. Item features a single shot falling block lever action. Blued finish to barrel and case hardened finish to frame. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip and is without forearm. Winchester markings typically seen on upper tang appear to have been buffed away or obliterated, but lower tang is marked "PAT OCT. 7 79". Heavy barrel features two dovetail sight mounts. Provenance:Sold to benefit The American Single Shot Rifle Association Condition: Fair to good. Bore is frosty. Finish to barrel is depleted and there is a mottled grey-brown patina overall with patches of bluing still relevant. Frame finish has thinned and has scratching overall. Wood stock has a loss to high comb and light scratching to both sides. Missing top screw on upper tang.
