CUBA--CHINESE LABOR] Group of three documents regarding the transportation of Chinese workers ("colonos") from China to Cuba. Each is on the letterhead of the Ministerio de la Guerra y de Ultramar, i.e. the Department of War and Overseas Affairs, secretarially written, and signed by Manuel Ulloa, the Spanish General Director of the Overseas Territories. Each document, dated 1859, is three pages long, and announces the departure of a vessel carrying Chinese workers bound for Cuba. Additionally, each is signed by the Captain-General of Cuba at the time, Jose Gutierrez de la Concha. Some browning and toning, generally in excellent condition. The vessels in question came from Macao, Canton, and what is probably Xiamen, China, with a total of 1300 Chinese colonists. Further details upon request. C
