cover 1919 (17 May) an envelope registered to France, originally intended to be sent through the Italian Post Office and bears a pair of 8c. on 20c. orange with Express 12c. on 30c., however, the letter was delivered to the French Post Office in Peking where pair of French Post Office 8c. on 20c. purple was added and all the stamps cancelled by French "PEKIN/CHINE" c.d.s. with a French registration label at left; the reverse with Shanghai transit c.d.s. and the envelope sealed by a strip of the margin from the 8c. on 20c. stamp. A great rarity, believed to be the only mixed franking cover with stamps from both the French and Italian Post Office in China. Holcombe (1986) and Enzo Diena (1987) Certificates. Photo
