cover -- 1899 (3 June) envelope registered to Germany bearing, on the reverse, a pair of C.I.P. 10c. tied by the Wei Hai Wei dated oval with Chefoo, Shanghai and Hong Kong transit c.d.s., the front with pair of Hong kong 10c. purple on red cancelled by Shanghai c.d.s. and a good strike of the Chefoo "I.P.O." tieprint plus large "R" struck at Chefoo and "R" in circle struck at Shanghai. A rare and desirable cover, this is not recorded as a tie print cover by Goodwyn, registered mail is particularly scarce. Photo
