P.O./NO 2" squared-circle d.s. of 28 December, with Bangalore Delivery c.d.s. for 25 January alongside; the card, from Sargeant Major Beard to his wife, includes "Expect to reach Bhamo tomorrow" and "A few hostile natives are showing up at this village. They are inside a stockade and are armed with dalis and old guns. I fancy they are frightened and don't mean to fight" ; vertical crease and other minor faults though a very rare item of Military mail confirming the first day of use of this cancellation. Photo
