The text is extra-illustrated with 2 photographic reproductions and 48 engravings, mezzotints or etchings, most mounted to size, some trimmed into plate area with loss to imprint; the additional plate volume contains 122 engravings, mezzotints or etchings, most tipped onto their mounts, some trimmed, two mounted onto pastedowns.
