Top of barrel marked CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF'G CO NAUBUC, CONN. Breech block marked PATENTED OCT. 25, 1864. Upper left angled flat of the barrel bears the rare and desirable mark BULL - DOZER, with is not found on most examples. Nickel examples are significantly less common than the more often encountered blued and case hardened examples. Between 7,400 and 8,000 of these guns were produced between 1864 and 1868. Condition: Fine. Retains most of the nickel finish with some scattered surface oxidation and some flaked finish loss. Markings remains clear and crisp throughout. Mechanically functional, fair bore that is moderately oxidized and pitted. Grips have faded to a chocolate brown but retain crisp checkering and show only some light handling marks.
