Commandé neuf par Garage Francorchamps, importateur Ferrari belge et immatriculée pour la première fois le 17.10.1973, ce charmant petit fourgon FIAT avec sa livrée évocatrice faite de noms de divers modèles Ferrari ne peut être qu'un parfait complément à toute collection de chefs-d'œuvre de Maranello ou bien servir de véhicule d'assistance idéal pour la compétition. Successeur de la FIAT 1100 T, le type 238 fut introduit en 1967 et offert en plusieurs versions – fourgonnette, camionnette, châssis cabine, minibus et ambulance – avec des moteurs de 1,197 ou 1,438 cm3. La vitesse maximale était de 105 km/h environ. La partie mécanique du 238 provenait de l'Autobianchi Primula, modèle marquant en tant que premier type de tourisme du groupe FIAT doté de la traction avant et d'un moteur transversal. Produit en collaboration avec Citroën, un fourgon Tipo 242 apparut en 1974 doté d'un moteur à essence plus puissant ou d'un diesel en option. Mais le succès du 238 était tel qu'il apparut au catalogue avec le moteur du 242 et fut maintenu en production jusqu'en 1983, date à laquelle il fit place au premier modèle de la série Ducato. Cet exemplaire du très réussi FIAT 238 est proposé en état non restauré et avec son carnet et sa carte grise belge au nom du Garage Francorchamps.
