(COLUMBUS, CHRISTOPHER) D'AILLY, PIERRE Imago mundi del Cardenal Pedro d'Ailly y Juan Gerson. Madrid: Testimonio Compania Editorial, 1990. Folio, period blind-stamped calf with brass corner mounts, gilt-lettered spine, housed in original gray velvet case. Facsimile, translation from Latin into Spanish of a collection of 13 treatises by Pierre d'Ailly, beginning with his Imago mundi, and five treatises by Gerson. The Latin original was printed in Louvain by Johannes de Westphalia ca. 1483. The present is a facsimile of the incunabulum, now housed in the Biblioteca Columbina in Seville, once owned and annotated by Christopher Columbus. Limited edition, one of 980 signed on the colophon Alberto Ballarin Marcial, notary of Madrid. Lacking accompanying text volumes; light wear and soiling to case; darkening to endpapers and edges of some leaves; contemporary marginalia throughout; 1/2-inch tear to edge of p. 161.
