Frame marked United States Property. Above the magazine release button is a large letter "G" with JM in center. Black finish, checkered wood grips, correct two-toned magazine. "JM" stands for Major John M. Gilbert, Army Inspector of Ordnance Colt M1911 pistols. Condition: Slide retains 95% of the original black finish with some wear to the high points on the front of slide. Frame retains 90% of the original black finish, just thinning a little, and some wear to the high points. Grips are excellent. Both the finish on the slide and frame match. These rare pistols are very hard to find in this condition.
