COLOR PLATE] LUGAR, ROBERT. Architectural Sketches For Cottages, Rural Dwellings, And Villas, In The Grecian, Gothic, And Fancy Styles, With Plans; Suitable To persons Of Genteel Life And Moderate Fortune ... London: J. Taylor, 1823. The third edition. Original purple publisher's cloth. 11 x 9 inches (28 x 22.5 cm); (1)-31 pp., including title, dedication and preface leaves, followed by 38 aquatint plates, of which 23 are hand-colored. Bound in at the rear are two attractive but unsigned manuscript architectural renderings in sepia and pencil of a country house, as well as two floor plans drawn in ink and a printed ground plan and another leaf extracted from another work. The spine is defective, with the terminal endpaper lacking so that the rear board is loose. Internally, this is a clean copy, and interesting for the renderings of a Gothic residence. Abbey Scenery 30, for the uncolored first edition of 1805. Sold with a copy of Papworth Rural Residences, London: 1818, a fragment only with the first fifteen plates, title and text, in early blue wrappers. C The Creekmore and Adele Fath Charitable Foundation Collection
