United States, Eisenhower Dollars, various dates (46), and a Proof, 1971, Morgan Dollars, various dates (27), many with adhesive on reverse, Peace Dollar, 1923, along with another mounted in a key chain, 1924, Columbia Exposition Half Dollars (6), assorted United States denominations, Half Dollar to Cent and various dates including a Buffalo Indian Head Nickle and two winged Mercury Head Dimes (8), miscellaneous coins from Europe and Asia in various currencies and dates (22), together with a large group of world paper money which includes, Confederate States of America paper money and, United States, Series of 1899, One Dollar Silver Certificate, extremely fine . A large collection of United States and World coins and paper money, part of which helps to illustrate the various travels undertaken by John A. Roosevelt. An interesting anecdote surrounding the 27 Morgan Dollars involves a trip to a Las Vegas, NV casino made by Eleanor Roosevelt. With a lucky pull of the handle of a slot machine, out came flooding these 27 Morgan Dollars. The Eisenhower dollars were collected because John A. Roosevelt was chairman of Citizens for Eisenhower and served on the President's Committee on Government Contracts, helping to enforce nondiscrimination clauses in industrial contracts with the Federal Government. Provenance : Eleanor Roosevelt (Morgan Dollars) -- John A. Roosevelt (the remaining).
