Lot of 5: Oval albumen photograph, 6 x 8.125 in., on 10 x 12 in. mount, featuring portrait of two Union colonels seated together in a studio setting. Mount credited to W.L. Germon, Philadelphia. Ca 1864-1865. Toning to print and mount. Soiling on print and mount, including some heavier stains in margins of mount. Some small chips/slight loss along edges. 2 cabinet cards, including what appears to be a copy image made from an earlier, Civil War-era tintype or ambrotype of a soldier armed with rifle and bayonet, wearing a US belt buckle, verso imprint of Bowers, Concord, NH. Nice, rich tones, some minor soiling. Plus post-war cabinet card of a Civil War first lieutenant wearing a badge marked "15" on his jacket as well as a ladder badge, verso imprint of C.H. Gallup, Poughkeepsie, NY. Accompanied by paper note tentatively identifying the subject as "Charles Ulrich." Toning, some minor surface soiling. Each with light corner wear to mounts. Photographic montage, 4.75 x 6.75 in., comprised of reproductions of four CDVs showing a uniformed soldier, the same soldier in his later years, a woman and baby (presumably his wife and child), and a young woman. Penciled note on verso identifies the subject as "James Thacher Haywards" and children. Even toning to print.
