Approximately 140 items in all, comprising about 100 original photographs, the remainder being brochures, deeds, maps, court documents, letters, boat and train schedules, and more. Fantastic assemblage of rare and significant documentation of Alaska and the Klondike during the vibrant years of the gold rush. The photographs include views of Nome, Skagway, Valdes, Unga, Dawson, Sitka, Juneau, Unalaska, Kodiak and other scarce locales. Notable among these is an important view of "Driving the Last Spike of the White Pass and Yukon R.R. at lake Bennett" in 1899. The ephemera and original documents include quitclaim deeds, legal licenses, mining business letters, receipts, court summons, maps, and other scarce items.
