Highlights include a 27 x 21cm typed letter on light blue paper, signed "P.G. Wodehouse" at foot in ink. In the letter, dated March 17, 1936 Wodehouse writes: "I'm not quite sure which of the Jeeves stories I like best, but I much prefer the third series, "Very Good Jeeves" to the other two. I think, though, that, if you want me to choose one, I will choose "The Great Sermon Handicap", with "The Song of Songs" as runner-up". Mailing folds and light creasing to corners. Also included in the lot is a clipped signature of Ernest Rutherford, signed letters from Vita Sackville- West, Ivor Brown the musicologist Susi Jeans, the mathematician Alfred N. Whitehead, the archaeologist Aurel Stein and others, along with a rare "Wonderland" Postage-Stamp Case, decorated with illustrations from Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". An interesting and mixed collection. Viewing recommended.
