COCKBURN, Major James-Pattison. [VIEWS OF LAKE MAGGIORE, SUZA, THE SIMPLON etc.] A suite of 30 lithographed plates after Major Cockburn by I. D. Harding all with later hand-colouring. London: by Rodwell and Martin, printed by C. Hullmandel, 1820-21. Oblong 4° (294 x 410mm). Modern red half calf. Rodwell and Martin were the publishers of 3 of the illustrated works by Cockburn listed in BMC, his Swiss Scenery (1820, 4°), Views to illustrate the Route of Mount Cennis (1822, 2°), and Views to illustrate the route of the Simplon (1822, 2°). However, the above plates do not fully conform with any of these publications. Without title, they include a number of views of Suza and the route between Suza and Turin, many attractive views of Lake Maggiore, also the arsenal at Geneva, the cathedral at Ossola, bridge of Crevola, village of the Simplon, and valley of Gondo.
