FAIRCHILD, Secretary of War WILLIAM F. ENDICOTT, Secretary of the Navy WILLIAM C. WHITNEY, Attorney General AUGUSTUS H. GARLAND, Secretary of Interior WILLIAM F. VILAS, Secretary of Agriculture NORMAN J. COLMAN and Postmaster General DON M. DICKINSON, n.p., n.d. [Washington, D.C., late 1888 or early 1889]. 507 x 548mm. (20 x 21 1/2 in.) including mount, minor chip at extreme top edge of mount, matted and glazed in a gilt-wood frame. A fine, oversize sepia-toned portrait by C.M. Ball, depicting the Cleveland cabinet seated in relaxed positions about an ornate conference table beneath an elaborate Victorian gaslight. In the background is a large standing portrait of George Washington(?), a large globe and a huge wall-map of the United States. Boldly signed by each individual beneath his image (Agriculture Secretary Colman has also signed, although he is not pictured).
