President Cleveland sends his thanks: "...I enclose you my check for $108[.50] the price of the cow you were good enough to procure for me...I am certainly very much obliged to you for the trouble you have gone to supply my need and I claim especially to thank you for the calf...I am exceedingly glad to have the Smithboro blood replaced and shall...have the new calf replace a calf from Gray Gables which I thought I would raise but will now send to the butcher..."
