On top of blade flat of false-edge is etched Iron Cutter Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, New York. Both sides of blade etched with standard panels E. Pluribus Unum and U.S. Brass handle and hilt, steel scabbard with brass fittings. Condition: Etched paneling is worn thin, but still legible. Steel blade has a gunmetal grey look with salt and pepper pitting. Brass hilt has a tarnished look. Metal scabbard with six dents. Steel body covered with an overall dark brown look with scattered pitting. Brass fittings have a nice tarnish. Bottom of scabbard with spurious stamping Jno C. Welch.
