Beschreibung:

Lot of 7 tintypes, most CDV-sized or slightly smaller, including: 2.75 x 3 in. tintype of a young Civil War soldier, with modern inked note identifying the subject as "Lt. Jerry Tewmey (?) died 1864." Last name difficult to discern, making it challenging to find information in HDS on a soldier by this name. 2 CDV-sized tintypes of handsome young soldiers seated in a studio setting, one posed in front of a painted camp scene backdrop. Both with lightly tinted cheeks. Sixth plate tintype of an armed soldier, likely late Indian Wars-era, housed in half case. CDV-sized tintype of three soldiers standing together in a studio. CDV-sized tintype of a mustached man in tri-corn style hat, under paper mat. Could be a fraternal uniform. 1.75 x 3.25 in. tintype of an armed, uniformed soldier standing beside a young man in civilian clothing, with paper label on verso featuring imprint of "International Gallery, G.B. Murray - Brockville, ON," indicating that this may show a Canadian soldier. 1.25 x 2.25 in. tintype of three uniformed soldiers, all wearing gaiters, not part of most Civil War uniforms (some zouave units being exceptions). These may be Indian Wars, when many of the men were mounted (especially on the Plains) and these may have been part of riding gear. Condition: Some images a bit dark. Some with clipped corners.
