Lot of 4, including: uncased sixth plate tintype of James F. Hicks who served with the Union navy, accompanied by information regarding his service record and a Civil War, Our Navy token. The name J.F. Hicks is pressed on the back of the mat preserver. With a photocopied document showing Ohio soldiers who enlisted in the US Navy including James F. Hicks, who entered service on December 22, 1862, and served on Silver Lake for two years. He was discharged on December 23, 1864. Image is nice, clear. CDV-size tintype of young sailor identified on paper mount as Arthur Post. Some light creasing in tintype, light soiling on paper mat. Sixth plate ruby ambrotype of seated Union sailor, lightly hand colored, housed in full case reinforced at hinge. Wipe across sailor's face, few other nicks in plate. Sixth plate tintype of Union sailor with an anchor patch on his shirt, and a whistle hanging from the chain around his neck. A nice, clear studio portrait housed in full case that has been reinforced at hinge.
