Lot of 47, comprised of 46 CDVs and a single cabinet card. Most CDVs are lithographed or engraved images (not original, "from life" photographs). Highlights include: 34 lithographed CDVs of Civil War generals, politicians, and other personalities published by L. Prang & Co., Boston, including E.M. Stanton, Mrs. Jessie Fremont, Kit Carson, Generals Grant, Sickles, Lane, Burnside, Doubleday, Sigel, Porter, Captain J. Ericsson, and more (some with trimmed edges, few with scattered spotting, most with light corner/edge wear). - 6 lithographed/engraved CDVs of Abraham Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, General McClellan, and others (most with trimmed edges, toning, some surface spotting/soiling). - 5 CDVs (including gem-sized tintype in CDV-sized mount) of unidentified Civil War soldiers, 2 credited to Paige, Plumb Gallery, Washington, DC (each with trimmed edges, surface spotting and soiling). - CDV of little person in uniform with sword in his belt and rifle by his side by J. Gurney & Son, New York. The subject leans on a table covered by the American flag (top edge trimmed, soiling, edge/corner wear). - Cabinet card of "The Little Russian Prince," by Frank Wendt, Boonton, NJ (significant fading, toning to image, scattered spotting/soiling to image and mount, edge/corner wear). With printed biographical information on verso. Accompanied by 6 x 8 in. leather album in which many of the CDVs were originally housed.
