DescriptionProperty from a Private Belgian Collection
Circle of Jan Breughel the YoungerAdam and Eve in the Garden of Eden
oil on oak panelunframed: 54 x 76 cm.; 21¼ x 29⅞ in.framed: 72.2 x 94.1 cm.; 28½ x 37 in.Condition reportThe panel is cradled and stable, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. There is some unevenness in the panel, caused by repaired splits, particularly upper left and right, and just below centre. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouching along these, and a few other spot retouchings lower right, but the painting otherwise appears to be largely untouched and presents very well in its current state. In overall fairly good condition.
