An intimate photographic record of Churchill at Chartwell with his children and grandchildren, showing the statesman in relaxed poses, playing with his pet dog Rufus, feeding carp in a Chartwell pond, feeding a robin, tending to his bees and relaxing in his garden. The photos were taken by the photographer Vivienne (Mrs Melish) or by her son (and Churchill's son-in-law) Anthony Beauchamp. Loosely inserted in the album is a 6pp. undated, unsigned typescript of Mrs Melish, describing her meetings and photo sessions with Churchill.
