Collection of 245 Ministry of Information wartime photographs of Churchill, 1941-1944, laid down on 18 sheets of stiff card, with each photo measuring approximately 3 x 3¼ in., WITH 73 ADDITIONAL WARTIME PHOTOS, black and white images, various sizes . A REMARKABLE ARCHIVE OF WARTIME PHOTOGRAPHS showing Churchill with F.D.R. at the Atlantic Conference, sailing to America to meet with Roosevelt in December 1941 and again in 1943 for the Quebec conference. There are shots of Churchill manning the controls of an airplane, conferring with Harry Hopkins at sea; meeting with FDR at the White House; speaking before the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa; and greeting his wife Clementine with an affectionate kiss on a railway station platform. A particularly striking image shows Churchill standing with Montgomery on Normandy beach when Churchill visited there on D-Day plus-6, 12 June 1944. The extent of the devastation testifies to the terrible violence of the battle. (318)
