The set continues through to his final work, A History of the English Speaking Peoples . The consummate statesman, Churchill was also a fine writer, as evidenced by the quantity of important works here represented: the haunting account of the reconquest of the Sudan in The River War , his biographies of his father, Lord Randolph Churchill , and Marlborough , and his memoirs of the World Wars, The Great Crisis and The Second World War .
