Churchill, Onassis, Arias And Fonteyn Twelve black and white snap-shots of Aristotle Onassis' guests on board his yacht Christina , August, 1960, including: a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill seated on deck, initialled by subject in blue ink W.S.C ; another of Churchill and his wife, Lady Spencer Churchill [Clementine], initialled by subjects in blue ink W.S.C and C.S.C , the others unsigned, featuring Churchill, Tito and Fonteyn (4), Fonteyn and Churchill (1), Tito and Churchill (1), Churchill, Clementine, Fonteyn and Artemis Garafalides (1), Churchill, Clementine, Onassis and Tito (1), Fonteyn (1), Onassis (2), each -- 2½x2½in. (6.3x6.3cm.) ; four similar colour snap-shots, one of Clementine Churchill and Margot Fonteyn initialled in blue ink C.S.C , two of Churchill, his wife and Tito and another of Churchill and Tito, each -- 3½x3½in. (8.9x8.9cm.) ; twelve enlargements of two of the black and white images, one featuring Churchill and Fonteyn, the other Churchill, Tito and Fonteyn, largest -- 8x10in. (20.3x25.4cm.) ; eight further shots of Onassis and members of his party on board the Christina or his launch in Venice, largest -- 8x10in. (20.3x25.4cm.) ; three corresponding and three other 6x6cm. black and white negatives; correspondence from Clementine Churchill to Margot Fonteyn including an autograph letter, signed, March 28th, 1968, which appears to refer to some of the shots above, telling her I shall be delighted if you will use the Venice Film... 2pp.; another typescript letter, signed, thanking Fonteyn for sending her autobiography, 1p. and two Christmas cards, both colour reproductions of Winston Churchill's watercolours, both signed by Clementine on behalf of herself and her husband; and related material(a lot) The negatives in this lot are offered without copyright or any other reproduction rights.
