Chinese White Jade Covered Vase 18th/19th Century The compressed shouldered form rising from a splayed oval foot, carved in high relief with a scaled dragon clamboring down one side amidst swirling clouds and another dragon encircling the waisted neck, the tapered lid surmounted by a flaming pearl finial is attached to the interior by a sixteen-link chain, the stone of even tone with minor russet striations. Height 6 5/8 inches. Dragon at shoulder has one missing segment of his whisker. Vertical natural fissure incorporated into the carving of the dragon along the side of the vase, another vertical natural fissure incorporated into the carving of the clouds on the side of the vase.
