Chinese Huanghuali Seal Chest 18th Century Of rectangular form, the canted lid lifting up to show a single compartment, two panel doors opening to four interior drawers with tab pulls, the sides set with a pair of bail handles, the circular lockplate set flush above two shaped door pulls in front. Height 14 inches, width 14 inches, depth 9 1/2 inches. Provenance: Grace Wu Bruce C
Repair on lid back right corner, split approximately 4 inches long on lid. Side panels made of three pieces of wood. Later hinges, lockplate and pulls. Some minor shrinkage to base panels of drawers. Deep drawer on top right has split in base panel. Some minor shrinkage to panel doors.
