The Trial of Mary Broom: A Staffordshire Story, 1st edition, [1894], 5 wood-engraved plates including frontispiece, author's signed presentation inscription to Mr Parkin to head of title, autograph letter signed, 'A.L. Coghill', from the author to Mr Parkin tipped in at front, also 2 obituaries of Mrs Coghill from 1907 tipped on to 4 additional leaves (somewhat browned), 2 related printed items on the literary friendship of Mr T. Parkin inserted at front, ownership signature and address of Thomas Parkin to front free endpaper and his armorial bookplate to front pastedown, small brown stain at rear affecting endpaper and inner margins of preceding few leaves, contemporary half morocco, joints cracked, a little rubbed, 8vo The author's name is printed as Mrs Harry Goghill (Annie L. Walker) on the title-page. The article on Thomas Parkin, JP, describes him as a book collector and devoted Grangerizer. (1)
